Big Kids, Little Kids
Family Event
Over the past two years, we have managed to host our mother's day breakfast, an online father-children evening and a scaled-back end of the year celebration, but we haven't had the opportunity for our families to come together for a whole school event. Last Thursday, 3rd March, 29 families came together as a school community to participate in our Big Kids, Little Kids evening. We were very excited to finally host an event that everyone could join in.
After looking through classrooms, and a BBQ dinner, families, were given a kit of 'tools' (scissors, glue, paper plates, textas, and other assorted items) and some cardboard boxes and spent about 45 minutes designing and making their family car... or their dream car!
Children paraded their cars - a flaming Ferrari, a little car with a trailer and a car with an aerodynamic spoiler (I think...thus ensuring a 5-minute conversation about car parts with my husband who wanted to fact check, that I knew what I was talking about) and a host of other amazing creations.
We thank all the families who came along to spend the evening with us.
