A week of community events

Weeks 6 & 7

Hello, Holy Family community.

Week 6
Week 6

Big Kids Little Kids

On Thursday of last week, we had our Big Kids Little Kids event. We had many families from the school at the event, and everyone had a great time. Some 'outstanding' cars were made and paraded towards the end of the evening. We had a lovely mix of new and existing families, and it was also an opportunity for the school staff to introduce themselves to the families. We had some staff start just before the first lockdown, so it was the first time they were at a school event.

We are looking forward to having more opportunities for everyone to get together. I want to thank the school staff for all working to help make the evening a success, especially Connie Drossaert, who put it all together and ensured everyone knew what they were to do

Camp

School camp for the senior children is the first week of term 2. That week on Monday is ANZAC Day, so it is a four day school week. The camp meeting is on Thursday 10th March, after school at 4 pm. We want to take all the senior school to camp. So that would be grades 3, 4, 5 and 6. Taking all these year levels will be the first time we have taken the four grades to camp together at Holy Family. I have successfully taken grades 3 to 6 many times in the past. We can discuss any concerns or questions that parents may have at the meeting.

St. Patrick's Day  In 2 weeks, it is St. Patrick's Day. Usually, we take senior students into the city to attend Mass at St. Patricks Catherdral with all other Catholic schools in the Melbourne Diocese. Unfortunately, only one student from each school can attend due to restrictions, so we have decided that we will not participate this year.

Congratulations

We congratulate the following students and their families:

Christina Goreeka has a baby brother named Nihar.

Tinashe and Tadiwa Bimha have a baby brother named Taurai.

Public Holiday

A reminder to all families that next Monday, 14th March is a public holiday and the school will be closed.
