Student News: Art Party

Celebrating Student Initatives

Our own "Artist in Residence"

The Tree of Life
The Tree of Life

On Tuesday afternoon at lunchtime,  about 13 students from Years 3-6 participated in an Art Party. The event was the outcome of one student's learning over the past 3 weeks. This student had read a text about an Art Party and followed this up by organising her own 'art party,'  at school. She made a poster, sent invitations and wrote a procedure about how to make "The Tree of Life."

Below is a sample of the instructions the student wrote and shared during her presentation

STEP 2: Draw the trunk of the tree in the middle of the line.

STEP 5: Put your small colourful pieces of paper on the tree and stick them on with water.

STEP 6: Wait for it to dry.

"My tree had a big trunk at the bottom. Mercy did a good job of planning the art party."

- Josephine

"It was fun and relaxing. I thought my tree looked like fire flames and ice-cold." - Deborah.

Come along and see the amazing works of art hanging in the library.
