Principal's Report

Tonight...

Please don’t forget that tonight we have our Personal Educational Plan Meetings. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and discuss some goals for the year.  You may like to take your child into the interview with you or you may not.  That is your choice.

As per DET requirements, you will be asked to show evidence of vaccination to the class teacher upon entry. Please have this ready to save time!

A Serious Concern

I am concerned with the behaviour of children pulling other children’s pants down out in the yard.

Whilst some may think its 'funny' I can assure you this can have some ongoing and serious long-term consequences.

Myself and Mr B will be speaking to all Year 3-6 students about how serious this behaviour is and the consequences that follow such serious behaviour.  I urge you to talk to your child to ensure they do not participate in this behaviour.

Whilst on the topic of concerns, I have dealt with two rather serious issues to do with apps students are using and the content that is being shared among groups of students. These apps are not age appropriate and some of the content was from an outside user who cannot be identified.

It’s a good opportunity, once again to speak with your child about the apps they have access to and ensuring you continue to create that environment where your child feels safe to tell you about things that make them feel unsafe online!

Cross Country

Thanks Mr Smith, teachers and parent volunteers for making our cross country run so smoothly.  I enjoyed heading down for a while to see many kids cross the finish line, exhausted but happy to be competing!

The Lloyd Park ovals are looking stunning.  Something I hope our school will have sooner rather than later.  I have contacted the Victorian Schools Building Authority to find out where our application is up to.  We are just waiting for our final approval (after 2 years!).

Undercover Basketball Court

With the donations from our Colour Run coming up on April, 7th I have already organised for the basketball court to be resurfaced over the Easter holidays.  I have confidence we will raise the money to cover the costs fully which would be amazing and make the undercover area look so much better!

Fundraising for our undercover basketball court is easy – simply follow the instructions outlined on the website. Your child can accept donations online by creating a cybersafe fundraising profile at www.australianfundraising.com.au . Please return your ONLINE donations before 08/04/2022 at 11:59pm.

Parent Sessions

Thanks to all the parents who have attended parent sessions with Ms Soutar.  Beginning Term 2 it will be a relief to get parents back into the classrooms helping our students do their best!

Have a great fortnight,

Mark Moorhouse
