Student Wellbeing

Introducing Reginald [School Counsellor] and

Caroline [Placement Student]

Hello everyone, my name is Reginald and I am a recent Master of Counselling graduate who has commenced working as a full-time School Counsellor for Brookside P-9 College. I will be part of the Wellbeing Team located in The Zone from Monday to Friday and can be contacted through the extension: 143.

Some of you may recognise me from last year, when I was busy completing my student placement with Brookside and assisting with various wellbeing programs throughout Terms 2 to 4. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to be part of the team in 2021, and I am looking forward to officially becoming a part of the Brookside family in 2022!

Hi there! My name is Caroline and I am a social work student from the University of Melbourne. I’ve just started my placement at Brookside and will be here until mid-July. Alongside my placement I am working part-time as an NDIS Support Coordinator at GenU.

I’m really excited to be placed at Brookside as I’m interested in the policies and programs that shape children’s experiences of school and how Wellbeing staff can facilitate their overall learning and development. As I work in mental health with adults who have experienced trauma I very much welcome the opportunity to be able to work in more of an early prevention space! I look forward to learnings lots and getting to you know all in these next couple of months. 😊

‘Raise Mentoring will be taking place again this year for a group of Year 8 students. Check out the flyer for more information!

Laura Wheelwright (Program Counsellor) will be visiting Brookside next week to speak with the Year 8 cohort about the mentoring program. As it is a free voluntary program with limited spots, we encourage students and parents to sign up quick! Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for more information about how to register for the program.’
