2022 Team Vic State Team Trials

Registrations are now open for any child in Year 6 (12 years and under) who would like to try out for the Victorian State Teams in Australia Football, Basketball, Netball and Soccer. Children are reminded that the skills required for these teams must be exceptional. It is not a ‘Come and Try’ system. Children are required to check with the school principal or sports teacher for endorsement to go to the trials. Trials close on Tuesday 1st March.

Notes with further information have been sent home with Year 6 students.

Colac Primary Schools Lawn Bowls Championships

Good luck to the following children who will be representing Sacred Heart at the Colac Primary Schools Lawn Bowls Championships - Ash Adams, Jarryn Baker, Harry Haslem, Pippa Barren, Charlie Gardiner, Matthew Hislop, Archie Martin, Charli Nowell, Alfie Riches, Rory Smart, Bella Parker, Olivia Tomkins, Jai Barrow, Alexis Borch, Ruby Box, Reece Charles, Sebastian Cooknell, Bonnie Leersen, Harry McConachy, Nate Parker, Tara Robertson, Beau Genua, Ashlin Tate, Stella Foley, Buddy Gange, Fletcher Tomkins, Alexander McNamara, Poppi Reid, Charli Doyle, Jesse McCarthy, Leon Whitehouse, Stathi Papafotis, Aedan Gibbs, Taylah Williamson, Reuben Duncan, Louis Hickey, Ricy Ma, Mickey Mathoat and Fred Melville. This event will take place on Monday 28th February at the Colac Bowling Club (near the lake). It will commence at 9.15 am and finish at approximately 12.30 pm.

Children will travel to the Colac Bowling Club this Friday 25th February to have a practise. We will leave Sacred Heart at 1.15 pm and return at 3.05 pm.

Children will need to wear their sports uniform and hat for both of these days.

Could parents/guardians please fill out the permission form on PAM for both events.

Sacred Heart Swimming Sports Years 4-6

Unfortunately the Sacred Heart Swimming sports were postponed. We hope to still hold this event in the near future. However the closing date for entries to the Greater Western swimming event is getting closer. For those students in Years 4, 5 and 6 who are ‘very capable’ swimmers and would like to have their times compared with other children in the Colac Division, can you please send me the following details: Name, date of birth, swim times and events. Please indicate if the swim time is for 24m, 33m or 50m.

Year 5/6 Tennis Trials (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DAY)

On Friday 25th February, children in Years 5 and 6 who have nominated to trial for the Colac Division Tennis Championships, will travel by bus to the Colac Lawn Tennis courts in Church Street. This will take place from 10.15 am to 12.40 pm. Children will need to wear their sports uniform, school hat, and bring along their water bottle and tennis racquet (I have a set at school for anyone who does not have one).

Year 1 and 2 Football Clinic

AFLW’s Cats player and past student Darcy Moloney is visiting the school on Friday 4th March to run some football clinics for our students in Years 1 and 2. Children will need to wear their sports uniform on this day and bring along their drink bottle. Children may also like to wear a football jumper/top etc. Football boots are not required.

Year 5/6 Golf Lessons

Our Year 5 and 6 students will be fortunate enough to have some golf lessons by one of the Regional Golf Developers/pro coach. Each class will have two lessons. These lessons will take place on Wednesday 9th March and 23rd March.

Children will need to wear their sports uniforms on these days and bring along their drink bottles. Golf equipment will be supplied.

Sacred Heart Athletics Day Years 3-6

The Sacred Heart Athletics Day for Years 3-6 will take place on Friday 11th March at the Colac Central Reserve. The athletics will start at 10.00 am and finish at approximately 1.30 pm. Children will be walking to the Central Reserve on this day.
