Welcome to new students and staff

We have had a number of new students join our school over the past few weeks. We warmly welcome Cadence in Year 3, Isiah in Year 9 and Lina in Year 10. A few more students will be joining us over the next couple of weeks so we continue to grow, with a student population of 139.

Chelsea and Kaitlyn have also started in the tutorial program at the campus, with Brent, Tim and Tyrone starting next week.

Change is hard for everyone and particularly difficult when you are moving schools or settings. I'm extremely proud of how well the students have settled into new routines with their classmates.

We also welcome new teacher Ms Catherine Mortimer who joins us to work on the Campus site. Ms Mortimer will be working 5 days a week and brings with her a wealth of experience, having taught in Sydney and far West NSW. Mrs Edwards has also returned to work with us on Relief from Face to Face (RFF).

Ms Lyons has joined the stage 6 team on the main site, with Mr Moor taking leave from school. Mrs Lord, School Counsellor is also returning from maternity leave this week so we look forward to having her back working one day a week with us.

I am excited to welcome the new staff and students and know that our school community will make them feel at home very quickly.

Twilight Session

This week, all staff attended Professional Learning sessions to build their professional skills. Staff were involved with a range of activities, with staff spread across activities tackling new reform to the K-2 curriculum, sharpening their technology expertise and learning the ropes of teaching sailing as a sport out on Lake Canobolas.

Primary teachers spent time learning about the new K-2 curriculum, which is undergoing reform for the first time in 30 years.

Secondary teachers and SLSOs spent time working through updates to digital platforms and finishing plans for students.
