Principal's Message

Nurture.  Innovate.  Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK

National reconciliation week is a week to say sorry and acknowledge the aboriginal people. It is also a time to learn about our shared history’s cultures and achievements. On national reconciliation week and to say sorry and acknowledge the aboriginal people.

At Maramba Primary School, each class has been learning about the purpose, history and importance of Reconciliation Week. Each student has been working towards creating their own piece of writing which represents their understanding of the importance of reconciliation. These have been collected together to create our shared Maramba Reconciliation Book. Throughout the week, our Cultural Leaders had run lunchtime sessions in the library that focused around engaging in the theme Be Brave. Make Change. We made handprints which were the colour of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (TSI) flags, with goals written on them about Be Brave. Make change. These handprints will be displayed at school to signify each of these two flags. These are some comments from the students from what they learnt in national reconciliation week:
