P-3 News

Our junior room is feeling very excited to have their new smart tv installed in their classroom. This screen replaces the old overhead projector and screen that had greatly diminished in reliability and screen quality.

We are so very grateful to the Raywood Community who purchased Friday night raffle tickets at the hotel as the proceeds from this was so generously donated to our school. A special thanks again to Jan from the post office who spearheaded this fundraising effort.

Year 4-6 News

Our senior room have also been very fortunate to have a new smart tv installed. This, once again, has replaced an outdated and unreliable projector and board system that was in the room. The purchase of this tv was made possible through department and government funding.

MARC News from Mrs G

The MARC library has been lucky enough to receive 4 big boxes of books from the Terry Floyd Foundation. There are good quality second hand books that were passed on from 123read2me. We all looked through the books and each student chose 2 to take home. These books are yours to keep and enjoy forever!

Daryl also generously gave us more Foundation ribbons for the students. I have given everyone one ribbon.

The student leaders at Raywood are considering some fun days in the future where a coin donation might be passed on to the Terry Floyd Foundation.

ADDITIONALLY the MARC library has received $1,000 worth of brand new books (in collaboration with Dymocks booksellers) that will be catalogued over the holidays and ready for borrowing next term.

We thank Daryl Floyd from the Terry Floyd Foundation for his ongoing generous support to our MARC van service.

Don’t forget to bring along your coins on Thursday 21st July so you can swap them for some great books! We will be raising money to send to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

We continue to be supported by the Terry Floyd Foundation and Dymocks Children’s Charities. Over the holidays I catalogued $1,000 worth of new books donated by these wonderful organisations, and they are all ready for borrowing!

CBCA Book Week celebrations at Raywood will happen on Thursday September 1st. You might want to dig around in the dress up box to see if you have something fabulous to wear! We will be sharing some of the short listed books and choosing our favourites before the winners are announced.

It’s going to be a big, brilliant, bookish term!

Kelly Sports

Each Friday morning our students will continue to receive quality coaching across a range of sports and fitness activities. Our students look forward to these sessions which take place in our stadium, the oval or on our courts- we are so fortunate to have such a large expanse and range of sporting areas in our school.

Music Lessons

This term we have weekly specialist music lessons for all of our students. Sessions will take place on Monday afternoons and be facilitated by a music mentor teacher, Rosie Savage.

We were so very fortunate to have received a grant for these sessions and to purchase some new music equipment.
