Parent/Carer- Teacher - Student Conferences
Formal Parent/Carer- Teacher-Student Conferences have now concluded. It was great to see so many of you there despite the cold weather.
At the end of each conference period the school looks closely at attendance data and feedback from parents with the aim of increase opportunities to meet with parents. 3:50 pm to 4:00 pm continues to be the most requested meeting time for parents with well over three quarters of all booking occurring in this timeslot.
If your child’s teacher was away during the formal conference period the teacher will be in touch to make alternate arrangements to speak with you when they return to work. We also know that many families continue to be impacted by COVID or flu. If this was the case we are sorry we missed you and hope that you are not too ill.
Email is often the best way to get in touch with teachers, otherwise you can make appointments are available between 3:25 pm 3:50 pm each day of the week.ad
COVID-19 and FLU vaccinations for children
As winter is upon us, it’s as important as ever for children to be vaccinated to help them stay healthy, and protect their families and communities.
Onsite COVID-19 and influenza vaccination clinics are being held at schools in Baw Baw. Trafalgar Primary will be hosting a clinic on Tuesday the 21st of June. All community members of any age are welcome to receive a COVID-19 and/or flu vaccination at the clinics, and can walk in with no appointment required.
Looking After Our Trees
It is part of our regular maintenance plan to have all the trees on our site checked in the interest of safety. Our most recent arborist report has identified 10 trees with issues considered “High Priority”.
Of the trees identified, 4 are dangerous and need to be removed. These include a small stand of wattles at the front of our main building (overhanging the staff car park and path) and 3 melaleucas located at the north end of our basketball court. These trees have split at the base and suffer termites and or fungal issues. Despite our best efforts, they cannot be saved.
The remaining 6 have a chance to be restored to health and will be pruned to reduce weight and canopy structure. This action according to our arborist will promote longevity and potentially save the trees. We have organised for the these works to be completed during June.
