Early Childhood Media Announcement

Parents may have seen last week’s media release from the NSW and Victoria Premiers, committing to funding to further boost quality early learning for students involved during the years before school. This commitment to the first years of formal education to assist a strong start to school is encouraging, as it supports what many years of research has indicated about quality learning both prior to and during the first formal stages of education.

I am delighted that this news is nothing new for Calrossy, where we have always had this focus, both through our community Pre-School and in the Prep classes, in which students are transitioned effectively into formal schooling in a supportive and constructive environment. Calrossy has been well ahead of the ‘game’ and both Pre-School and Prep remain important aspects of our P – 12 approach to developing great learners and catering for the needs of children of every age group as part of the learning journey. Play-based learning, strong supportive relationships and a smooth transition into school is something we have been doing for a long time and remain committed to continuing.
