Krispy Kreme Donut Extravaganza!!
Orders will close for the Krispy Kreme Fundraiser on Tuesday, 12th July, the day that we return for Term Three. It will be a hard cutoff date as we have to give Krispy Kreme 14 days notice of our order. You can continue to place your orders through Qkr during the school holidays and I will pop reminders on our PFC Facebook page.
This means that you have the whole school holidays to pester your workmates, friends and family into buying a box (or three!) of donuts to help in our fundraising efforts. Mr. B was on leave last year for donut day so I have automatically doubled his order for this year to make up!!!
We have added a Gluten Free and a Vegan (covers both dairy and egg allergies) donut to the list for the donut/slushy day. We were not able to source a wholesaler for these for the boxed dozens but can order a small amount for the students with dietary issues. Because Qkr! had already been set up for the event we had to add an extra “event” tab where you can leave a note if require a “special” donut. It is important that you fill in both sections if you require a “special” donut as the first section is where you pay.
Our Donut/Slushy day will be on Thursday July 28th and the boxed donuts will also be available on that day for collection. Slushed Out will be onsite serving up their delicious “school friendly” slushies during the day.
I also want take the opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has so generously supported our fundraising events so far this year. Times are tough, no doubt about it, so it is with great pride I say that we have already managed to raise close to $28,000 in this first half of the year towards our $80,000 two year goal for the new decodable take home readers.
Mrs Gilchrist and her literacy leaders have been busy looking at readers, not just for the junior school but also decodable books for our middle and senior school, that have age appropriate content but are also at a level that supports our older kids who may need that extra help. So this initiative really is a “whole school” system that every student will benefit from.
We hope to be able to share some photos of the first big shipment of new books when they arrive next term.
Have a great holiday everybody, recharge those batteries and we will see you next term for lots of fun-filled activities, including Father’s Day and Footy Day!
