Student Wellbeing

SRC (Student Representative Council) for Semester 2

Congratulations to the following students who have been elected as the S.R.C members for their classroom in Semester Two, 2022. These students will become the voice of their peers and will work collaboratively with each other and the school leaders to continue to make St James the wonderful place that it is. We had our first meeting last Thursday, where we discussed the role of the SRC, some areas for improvement in the school and discussions about empowering student voice.

Badges will be given out on the 1st August at our Monday morning Assembly.

Real Life Education

A special thank you to all the families who were able to attend the Real Life Education Online Workshop last Tuesday evening. In total, we had around 80 families join us for both sessions. Sue Pain, our wonderful presenter, facilitated the two programs and showed her enthusiasm and passion for sexuality education throughout.

The sessions had a focus on:

  • Families about relationships, bodies, foetal development and birth
  • Puberty, growing up and reproduction.

Sue has left some resources for parents to purchase for $10 each. Copies of these books can be located in the office if you'd like to drop by and look through:

  • Secret Girls' Business (7 copies available)
  • More Secret' Girls Business (17 copies available)
  • Secret Boys' Business (18 copies available)

Orders placed by the 11th August will be available for pick up on the 19th, from the office (by an adult).

Orders placed by the 18th August will be available for pick up on the 25th from the office (by an adult).

Please put $10 cash in an envelope with your family name and book title on the front. Please view the books before ordering so you know the content.

The Year 6s will now have a classroom program focusing on “Friendships”, “Hygiene” and “What Now?” to assist students transitioning into the secondary school environment.

We look forward having Sue back in 2023 for another session with families.
