On Friday the 3rd of June, the Year 2 students attended an excursion to the Melbourne Zoo. Below are some photos and some writing from the Year 2 students about their day.

The Seahorses were small and yellow. One looked like Mister Seahorse from a book we read in class.

We saw meerkats. Through a lookout, we saw a meerkat. It was on a bush looking for any danger.

We went to a Zoo school and learnt about animals and their habitats. The Zookeeper brought out a tortoise, his name was Billy.  We also went to the Butterfly House. We saw butterflies with orange wings, black wings and some with all different colours on their wings. They were flying everywhere. Some landed on people's arms and heads. It felt warm in the butterfly enclosure. We loved the Butterfly House.

The best part I liked about the Zoo was when we saw the giraffes. They were eating leaves out of a box. I even saw their tongue sticking out.  They were funny to watch. Their neck was very very long and they were also spotty and tall.

We saw 6 giant elephants. They didn't do much but one pooped. It was ginormous like the elephants.

We saw a python. It was 10 meters long. It was scary. It was slithering in the water. It was cool.
