On Friday the 3rd of June Larnook students travelled to 3 other schools, Goolmangar, Caniba and Coffee Camp to participate in lots of fun activities with the other schools in our Big Scrub network. The themes for the day were Daring Detectives, Australiana and That’s Entertainment. Stage 2 Australiana activities included Damper making, gold panning, native Australian flowers art, treasure hunt, story and games. Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 Daring Detectives activities were code breaking, mirror writing, finger printing, and a scavenger hunt. Stage 3 That’s entertainment activities included - So you think you can dance, Survivor challenge, just like the movies planning, filming and editing, entertainment history and culture, and tv quizzes and gameshows. It was fantastic to finally be able to attend an excursion again and mingle with other peers. A great day was had by both students and staff. Larnook students were exceptionally well behaved and we were very proud of them.

GRIP Leadership Course

Myrtle attended this excursion, accompanied by Coffee Camp Public School and had a fantastic day. The objective of the GRIP leadership course was to • Inspire students to make a positive contribution to their school • Motivate students to be great leaders in their area of influence • Empower students with practical skills of balancing study, school commitments, and social life as well as managing stress in these areas • Promote the value of inspirational and positive role models as examples to others, by exposing students to a diverse range of leaders and their views on leadership • Educate the students about the need to grow in knowledge and practical skills in the areas of excellence and leadership Connect with other students from other schools and develop long term support networks.

On Friday the 3rd of June 3 students, Marshall, Coby and Kyesha participated in the Zone Cross Country. There was a lot of strong competition and our students performed extremely well. We were proud to have the 3 students representing Larnook Public School to such a high degree.

Students in Stage 3 were encouraged to attend an Interrelate session ‘Moving into the Teen Years’ which explored a range of adolescent issues.

Smoothie & Waffle Day

On Wednesday the 15th June the Student Representative Council (SRC) will be holding a smoothie and mini muffin day. Smoothies and muffins will both be $1 each. Thanks for continuing to support our SRC, it is very important for the children to have a voice at school.
