WHY CHOOSE VET? Subject Selection 2023

Vocational Education & Training allows you to become ready for the workforce- rather than waiting until you leave school. If you chose to do a VET subject you will receive dual accreditation, HSC+ a Nationally Accredited Qualification. Also these courses can also go toward your ATAR!

- Business Services (ATAR)

- Construction (ATAR)

- Information Technology- (Web & Software Applications) (ATAR)

- Hospitality (ATAR)

- Fitness (non ATAR)

Did you know?

All work covered over 2 years is assessable in the HSC 

Tasks are competency based – you can have numerous attempts – no “rank” in classes 

No assessment component contributes to the HSC result – Cert II is independent of this. Your HSC mark is the mark you get in the exam on the day.

Awards are given for application and aptitude – not for exam mark

Exam mark can count towards your ATAR

Eligible to receive Nationally accredited certificate ( Cert II ) AND your HSC

Also may complete additional qualifications during your study eg. Senior first aid, Whie Card, RSA etc.

Work Placement allows you to gain experience in the workforce- and sometimes leads into employment!
