Assistant Principal News

Welcome to Term 3!

Another hectic term has commenced with students already attending numerous sporting events, careers expos and Drama showcases. Students have been reminded of the expectations to wear the correct winter uniform on the allocated days and to touch base with their Pastoral Leaders if they have any concerns about this.

Last Friday we celebrated the achievements of our junior students at the Yr 7-10 awards ceremony. It was pleasing to see so many students striving to do their best. A reminder to parents and carers that students receive academic awards, Merit awards, Marian awards and Principal awards.

Subject academic awards are awarded for academic achievement in a given subject. The top 3 students are recognised from each subject in Year 9 and Year 10.

Merit awards are awarded to students who have consistently demonstrated a positive attitude and application in a subject. Only 2 merit awards can be issued per class in any given subject.

Marian awards are awarded to a student for sound effort and commitment to studies, across all subjects, and for having demonstrated respect for school values and expectations.

Principal awards are awarded for outstanding academic achievement across all subjects.

We were pleased to welcome our Year 10 parents and students to the Subject information evening on Thursday evening. This night is an important part in the transition into senior school and provides important insight into the right pathway for students to pursue. Our thanks go to Mr Seers, Mr Dal Nevo, the KLA leaders and senior teachers for assisting families during this important process. We invite parents to book a meeting time on the upcoming interview day to ensure that all questions are addressed to move forward successfully.

Many exciting events will be taking place this term and we look forward to continuing our College year with the enthusiasm and positivity with which it has commenced.

Yours in Learning,

Lora Segrave
