Secondary Principal's Report

I would like to thank our staff, students, families and wider community for their support of our college this year. 2022 has seen a return to normality with camps, events and excursions all going ahead. It was fantastic that we could provide this for our students after two years of lockdowns.
Our Awards Ceremony on Tuesday was a celebration of our student achievements. We awarded students for excellence, growth and effort as well as a number of special awards. We thank the very generous sponsors who donated money, vouchers and their time to the awards program we have.
To two of our 2022 College Captains in Stevie Child and Al Rafael well done on achieving DUX and runner up to DUX of our College. Stevie was our DUX with an ATAR of 90.65 and Al Rafael runner-up with a score of 89. Your hard work has been rewarded with your outstanding results. We had five of our Year 12 results achieve ATARS over 80 which is a fantastic result given that these students spent much of Year 10 and 11 in remote learning.
To our four College Captains, we thank you for your representation of our college in 2022. You have embraced your roles as College Captains and have been very professional in your roles when representing our college both at community events and college events.
Our Year 12 students have finished 13 years of schooling and well done to you all. Already, we have students who have gained employment and early entry to university. We look forward to seeing what the future brings for these fine young adults that they have all become.
To our families who have had their last child finish their schooling at Kyabram P-12 College thank you for your support over a number of years.
We have welcomed our 2023 Year 7 students to our College this week where they have experienced a taste of their 2023 subjects. We have 125 Year 7 students next year which is exciting.
A reminder to parents and students that we are a Sun Smart school and that students are required to wear a broad brimmed hat when they are outside for classes and at recess and lunch. This is for Term 1 and 4. We have a large number of students refusing to wear hats and we would like your support in ensuring that you send your child to school with a broad brimmed hat. If this cannot occur for financial reasons we have some spare hats.
