Grade Structure and Staff 2023
Find below the classroom staff line up for 2023. No changes to class teachers have been made over the holidays, however our specialist program has two updates to fill our previous vacancies.
- Miss Hope will be returning to SMPS in a specialist teacher role. We are excited to have Hope back on staff. Prior to class teaching, Hope ran coding as a specialist subject at SMPS. She works wonderfully with our specialist team and is a very familiar face for our students.
- Miss Rachel will be joining us as our new P.E. teacher. Rachel is already known to many families at SMPS because she did her teaching practice during university at our school and has covered for our teachers when they are absent. We are thrilled to formally welcome Rachel to our staff.

P.E. will run on the following days for Term 1. This will start from Monday 6th February.

First Day Arrangements
We understand that the first day of each school year is a milestone that many families cherish. We are therefore warmly welcoming families to join their child on Tuesday morning as they enter the school and find their classroom. This will operate like a Family Friday...but on Tuesday. We will run this for a little longer than usual (until around 9:05am or 9:10am) to allow everyone to find their space.
- Who: All families from Prep to Year 6
- What: A chance to look at the space where your child will be learning for the year and to connect with their teacher
- When: Tuesday 31st January from 8:45am until approximately 9:05am
- Where: Enter via the main gates (Years 1 - 6) and the Ferrars Street door (Prep)
We are grateful that the public health measures allow us to have more face-to-face contact with families this year. Over the coming weeks we will also have:
- Family Fridays (Prep - Year 6): Starting this Friday
- Parent Information Nights (Years 1 - 6): Across the 6th - 10th February (session dates and times to be confirmed)
- Getting to Know Your Child Chats (Years 1 - 6): Monday 20th to Friday 24th February
