"Be The Best That You Can Be" - Celebrating Student Wellbeing and

Growth in Learning

Yr 10 French Excursion

On Thursday 24th November, the Year 10 French students got to experience the French culture through art and food. The students and their teacher made their way to THE LUME where they saw the Impressionism art exhibition: Monet and Friends.

The students went on the bridge from Monet's painting, followed a class on how to draw haystacks Impressionist style and did creative work. They learned about each artist's interpretation of the Impressionist art style and learned of its era.

Then we walked to Roule Galette near Flinders Street Station where the students got to try and taste some French galette and crepes. A galette is a savoury crepe, with a batter made only of buckwheat and water, so they are naturally Vegan! We add in eggs, ham or mushrooms and some cheese with a salad on the side. The students were even able to try snails, which are cooked in butter and parsley and usually eaten with a baguette that you dip in the sauce. Over all, it was a really wonderful day to celebrate the end of our French lessons and to also give a farewell to their classmates who are moving away.
