"Be The Best That You Can Be" - Celebrating Student Wellbeing and

Growth in Learning

Welcome to Wheelers –

Year 5 students JPPS & WMPS

On Wednesday 16th November, Wheelers Hill Secondary College hosted seventy Year 5 students from Jells Park Primary School and Waverley Meadows Primary School. The Year 5 students were buzzing with excitement, for some of them it was their first time in a secondary school.

Students started the day in the library playing board games and getting to experience our fabulous range of books as they waited for their activity rotations to begin. They were introduced to some of our Middle School Leaders who each led a group around for the day.

Students rotated between four activities across the day. Each station was led by a staff member and assisted by some excellent middle school students who led the way in the activities.

Students experienced cooking pizza in our Food Tech kitchens, coding spheros in Robotics, making slime in Science and drawing monsters in Art.

The day finished with students getting to see the gym in our Bunjil centre. Then they were treated to a performance from the instrumental band and some of our incredible student singers in our Theatrette.

Jells Park and Waverley Meadows students and staff spoke about how they loved getting to experience so many engaging activities and that all our students made them feel so welcomed.

Thank you to all the staff and students involved in making this event such a positive promotion of our college!
