3/4 Camp to Portsea By Patrick

We went to Portsea for our 3/4 camp and I went to the beach. It was called Shelley beach. I think I know why it is called Shelley because there were a lot of shells on the beach. We played 2 games and the first game we played so the instructor said up and you would go up and down and she would say go and there were flags that you had to get. It is like musical chairs. My friend Jacob won!. The next game we played was weight relay so it was a relay race in water and my team won again. The next activity was free time where we could build sand castles and swim and play tag in the water and do more fun things. I had a good time .The next activity we did was orienteering. So we had to look for letters. We were in teams and Jacob and I had a camera so we took photos of the letters and the map so we knew where the letters were.   We were the first step to get all the letters and then unscramble the word. Then we had diner and roasted marshmallows.  Then we went home the next day THE END

3/4 Camp to Portsea by Jay

At the Portsea camp we had lots of activities to do. It was lots of fun to go to Portsea camp. I went on the giant swing and  I went to the blue section. It was the highest level. I didn’t sleep much as people kept waking me up. There were 2 schools there at Portsea Camp. The other principal had an oddie on. Group 1 had snorkeling and there were lots of jelly fish there. Our first event was the giant swing . On our last night we roasted marshmallows for dessert. On the way back we stopped for some fish and chips at a park. I was so happy when  I got home so I could have a good sleep.

3/4  Portsea Camp 2022  By Zali A

On the 23rd of November 2022 we went to Portsea camp. We hopped in the bus and away we went. It took around an hour and a half. There was a 20 meter giant swing where the kids had to pull the rope. It took you to the top and you saw the amazing view and the beach. Then they released the rope and it dropped (it felt like your harness broke) and you swung so high!!  Once we got there our cabins were not cleaned yet so we went to the camp hall and listened to the instructor. Then we went to do the activities. The activities were; scootering, hut building, giant swing, orienteering and surf life saving activities,

Etc. The activity groups were kangaroos, koalas and platypus. We all took turns cleaning up after and setting up before. The teachers who came were Mrs Witchell, Mrs Sposato, Miss Maher, Miss Jess, Miss Wardeiner, Miss Naomi and Mr Stead. There were about 4 to 6 kids in each cabin.

On the first night we went on a night walk and a movie then came back to get ready for bed. At about 10 o'clock the teachers knocked on the door and gave us a small treat bag. Then  in the morning breakfast was at 8 o’clock am and then the activity group had to clean up. Then we got ready for our next activities and at 10 o’clock we had morning tea. At 1.30 we had afternoon tea. Before dinner we had an hour of free time then dinner at 6 o’clock. Once dinner was finished we waited for the cleaning group to finish cleaning then we got ready to go down to the fire. We roasted marshmallows, danced to music and played spotlight. After we had to get ready for bed and we were all so tired. In the morning it was the day to leave so we had to pack our suitcases. We ate breakfast and we had to go to the basketball court to play games with the parachute then we left the camp. Once we got on the bus the girls sang songs and then we stopped at Rosebud. We got fish and chips and got another lolly bag. Then we got back on the road to go home then we got there and we waited for our parents to come and we left.

It was an amazing camp!

3/4  Portsea Camp 2022  By Alexa R

On the day of camp we hopped onto the bus as our parents waved at us. I was feeling excited and nervous when we left, but luckily I had my best friend Corali right next to me the whole time. Once we arrived at Portsea Camp we bursted out of the bus with excitement, everyone put their luggage away and ran to the hall in the click of a finger! Soon after we got introduced to our spacious cabins, there were 3 bunks and 6 people in our cabin.

Now it was time for our first activity!! It was, hut building! After we made our nature huts we headed to the GIANT SWING! The giant swing was two massive poles going 20ft in the air with strings holding onto the harness. You would pull a rope to take the person to the height/colour they wanted to go to! It was heart dropping! You would get taken to the color you chose then dropped and it goes over a tall cliff.

After the fun packed first day it was already morning! The morning started off with a scrumptious breakfast, then we headed to our next activity which was scootering! It was so much fun, but do you know what was even funner? Swimming at the beach! But before we headed to the beach we had a delicious lunch! Sadly the main beach had jellyfish so we went to shelly beach instead, it was just as fun! Swimming was a bunch of fun, we played a fun game called flags! We also found some pretty shells scattered along the sand. After swimming we got to have free time! Most people hung out in their cabins while others went down the giant slide! Oh and did I mention that there was an adorable cat named Bilby!?

The next morning was the day we had to leave sadly, but we still got to play games before we left! The games were, parachute, basketball, and running on the oval. Camp was so much fun and I loved all the food options!

Now it was time to leave, everybody put their luggage in the bottom of the bus. Then we stopped at a park and Mr Stead went to go get fish & chips! We had potato cakes and lots of chips! And since it was  Pearl.M’s birthday she got a cinnamon donut with creme inside! Once we got onto the bus everybody got a snack bag with a lollipop, chocolate and a bag of chips! We started heading back to school. The drive back was 1 hour and 40 minutes, it felt like so long! We had finally arrived back at school, it was time to go home. Everybody grabbed their luggage and then ran to their parents, Everyone had such an awesome time at The Portsea Camp! I can’t wait to go camping again next year.

3/4  Portsea Camp 2022 by Xavier M

On Wednesday we went to camp and had a bunch of fun. I loved it, everyone else did too! I was nervous and scared and excited. We did lifeguard games it was fun. One of the lifeguard games was a running game where you are in a line and you run in the water and do a circle around the teacher and go back to your line then go to the end. After we played the game we got free time at the beach at the end. There were lots of scooters and on the first day we did scooter riding. It was fun even Miss Maher and Miss Sposato joined us and all of us nearly crashed into each other! We did hut building, there was a sandpit nearby where we built our hut. We went to the beach on a night walk and we walked on the pier, Miss Jess was at the start of the pier and all of a sudden a big wave came and splashed the rocks then got Miss Jess and some kids wet. I wanted to get wet too. I thought I saw a big fish but it wasn't one.

When we went on the giant swing and it was my turn I was nervous and excited when I got to the top. I picked to go to the highest and it was 30 meters in the sky, when I dropped it felt like I was about to hit the ground but then when it lifted me up so I could see the beach. I felt like a ragdoll, I loved it and when it drops you your face goes all weird it feels so weird!

When I woke up in the mornings I always heard birds chirping in. When I woke up and had breakfast Kevin and I played some board games then Pasquale joined us. The food was really good, I loved it. At the end of the day we roasted some marshmallows, we were allowed to pick a song to play. When it got dark the boys went to the military base then all the other people were playing Infinity tag. I loved camp so much. I hope i'll do it again one day.
