Another first for St Anne's College - Year 10 Formal

After much anticipation, the inaugural Year 10 Formal was held on the evening of Friday, December 2 at St Mel’s Parish Hall. The night was a great success. Our students dressed up for the occasion and they all looked amazing. The dance floor was the place to be!

A highlight of the night for me was seeing our community, students, staff and families getting into the spirit of the night with the Nutbush and Macarena

I would like to thank all of the staff who helped to organise the event and supervised on the night. I would also like to acknowledge our wonderful students, who made us so proud. Everyone involved was impressed with their dancing performances and their conduct on the night.

A few end-of-year reminders for students in the School of Possibilities in 2023 (current Years 9 and 10 students). All students have now been notified of their elective subjects. Families have been emailed a booklist of resources required, as well as instructions for ordering the school blazer, a compulsory item for all School of Possibilities students in 2023.

Families are reminded to complete the permission form on PAM for our orientation day activity on Tuesday, December 13. Students have been asked to complete a Google Form indicating their preferred activity on this day. It will be assumed that students who do not complete this form will not be attending on the day.

As the school year draws to a close, I would like to thank all of our families for your support. I wish you all a joyful and safe Christmas and look forward to seeing the students on February 2, 2023 for the first day of Term 1!

Students leaving St Anne's to chase their dreams

At the recent Year 10 assembly we recognised two students who have made significant contributions to our St Anne’s community. These two students are chasing big dreams, that sadly require them to leave St Anne’s and our community. While they may be leaving, they will always remain a very special part of our family here.

Riley Okely
Riley Okely

We would like to congratulate Riley Okely, who has been successful in gaining a position at Transit Dance Academy for 2023 onwards. Transit Dance is one of the largest dance training organisations in Australia, offering unique nationally recognised qualifications aimed at training and transitioning students into their dance careers. At Riley’s young age, it is a testament to his passion, commitment and talent that he has been offered this position. We wish him every success and know that he will achieve great things.

Dante Mori

We would also like to congratulate Dante Mori, who continues to achieve great things in football. Dante has been offered a position in the St Monica’s College elite Athlete Development Program as a senior boys footballer. This program is regarded as one of the premier collegiate programs in Australia.

Dante has a very impressive list of achievements. He has been selected in the Football Victoria Talent Identification and Development Centre (TIDC) program each year since the age of 10. This year he played in an elite match against A League club Melbourne City’s academy team, representing the state regional U16s side. Dante plays for Shepparton-based NPL club GV Suns. He was captain of the U16s team this year and was awarded a GV Suns Under 16s Best and Fairest award for the 2022 NPL season. We wish Dante every success for his future.

I would also like to recognise Year 10 student Noah Wheaton who received a Certificate of Participation after entering the very competitive writing competition, the Furphy Literary Awards, and congratulate all the students who were awarded commendations at our recent assembly, recognising their academic achievements and their contributions to our community.
