Benvenuto - Welcome
Welcome to the final edition of il giornale for 2022.
Friday evening, December 2, was a momentous occasion for the college as we held our first Year 10 Formal. The students had been practising the dances for some weeks in the lead-up to the event and it certainly showed on the evening as they presented three formal dances. It was great to see families join the students on the dance floor after the formal presentation. A grateful thanks to Leesa Shannon and Xavier Tanner for preparing the students for the dances. After the formal part of the evening, the students had a fun time on the dance floor. Thank you to the formal committee who did such a great job putting the event together. Further coverage of the Year 10 Formal can be found on the Learning Updates - School of Possibilities page in this edition of il giornale.
Last week we received formal notification that we had been successful in gaining a $5m Federal Government grant towards our next building stage. We are very grateful for the ongoing support of the government through the Catholic Capital Grants committee. The design phase can now progress as we continue our work with Number 42 Architects to plan the next phase of building.
On Thursday we had another joyful celebration of the children’s learning at the annual Christmas community picnic concert. The addition of the Christmas stall was well received and the children performed with confidence and positivity. Thank you to all staff involved, especially Ellie Phillips for her leadership in preparing the children for their performances, along with Linda Alampi and Sean O’Brien. A huge thank you again to the Spadaro family for supplying the truck trailer (also known as main stage!). Please head to the Catholic Identity page for more coverage of the picnic concert.

A very big thank you goes out to 123Read2Me (one of the foundation sponsors being Lions International) for their generous donation of books to add to our college library. Reading is essential and serves as a basic building block for learning, regardless of the school subject, be it language, arts or even math. In daily life, the need to read things such as street signs or prescriptions proves reading is also an important life skill. Reading strengthens the brain and improves memory.
