2017 College Feast Day

Corpus Christi Mass
College Feast Day begun with our 'Corpus Christi Mass' which was celebrated by His Grace, Archbishop Dennis Hart, and was con celebrated by Fr John O'Reilly at St Patrick's Cathedral. The solemnity of 'Corpus Christi' invites us as a school community to understand and give thanks to God for the gift of the Eucharist -which is the body and blood of Christ. Furthermore, it allows our college to celebrate its establishment, as a leading provider for education in the North Western suburbs of Melbourne for 35 years. At Catholic Regional College Sydenham, our ethos is based on the values of faith and community. As a Catholic congregation, through celebrating the Mass, we are able to share with one another at the altar, as a unique community who are all God's children. Our college's 35 year milestone is one of great significance, and provides both staff and students an opportunity to reflect, admire and give thanks for the achievements of all in our community.
Thank you to Vince Iannuzzi (Faith and Mission Director), staff, the student leadership group and Rebekah Vandenberg & the choir who participated in the Mass, and thank you to all students for remaining reverent whilst celebrating this auspicious occasion.

Luna Park Feast Day Celebrations
On the 22nd of June 2017, our college celebrated 35 years of excellence. After our Feast Day Mass commenced, we received morning tea and were transported to Melbourne's historic amusement park, Luna Park. Where we got the opportunity to have the entire park to ourselves as no public access was granted. After we got to Luna Park, we were given lunch boxes with nutritious and healthy foods such as fruit and apple juice alongside our ham sandwiches. It was extremely clear that the school put in an enormous amount of planning and organising to make this event run smooth. We were able to experience an absolutely amazing Feast Day enjoying all the rides with the presence of our teachers. This created many memories which we will take with us, marking our 35th anniversary as a truly special day.

35th Jade Anniversary
The College’s 35th (Jade) Anniversary celebrates our 35 years of providing a quality Catholic coeducational education to the now 20,000 graduates who have passed through Catholic Regional College Sydenham. The badge is green to symbolise the Jade Anniversary. The flaming eagle represents the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. It is the spirit that moves each of us to build the Kingdom of God and follow in the example of Jesus Christ. This is a community of the Eucharist where each of us is challenged to Soar like an Eagle in our journey of Faith seeking Understanding.
