Commencing Term 3
Thank you to all the parents who attended the Parent/Student/Teacher Interview on Monday. It is very important that you take a positive interest in your son’s education. Your son probably has some goals or areas that he needs to work on for the semester. If you could occasionally ask your son how he is going with these goals or areas that would be great. Working together with the school is the most effective way for your son to improve. It was good to see all the boys back and now we need to ensure they have a positive mind set and are ready for the term ahead.

'SMALL STEPS’ Presentation for Parents
Anxiety is a growing issue in our society and I would like to thank Mrs McCarthy for organising this information evening. The night will begin at 6.30pm on 23rd August, as per the flyer below. We ran the same program a few years ago and it was very informative.
In order to work out an appropriate venue at our Chatswood campus for the night, could you please email Mrs Joanne McCarthy if you wish to attend. Her email is JMcCarthy@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au
ThinkUKnow Cybersafety Information Evening
In response to requests from members of our Parents and Friends Association we have invited Federal Cyber Safety Body, ThinkUKnow, to present on the risks associated with Cyber and Social Media Activity to young people.
One of the topics, among the many we have been requested to address, is the risk to student’s digital reputation and future career search and employment prospects, of online social media profiles and online activity in the short term.
The presentation will take place at the College Gym at 6.00pm on Tuesday 25th July with bookings to be made via the Trybooking site: https://www.trybooking.com/QSEF
Parents, Carers and Teachers are invited to attend, with future events to consider student involvement. More information on the presentation is provided on the attachment and promotional poster below.

Thursday Sport: Our Winter program resumes at Oxford Falls with AFL, Football and Rugby training. Students require full training gear. Summer trials begin on 17th August for Basketball, Cricket, Softball and Tennis.
Dance: I acknowledge all students for the energetic and spirited nature in which they engaged in the recent Dance program. Thanks to parents and friends who attended the final performance. In the end Treacy were too polished for the opposition, claiming the win from Rice with Barron with Purton 3rd and 4th respectively.
Athletics Carnival: Torrential rain impacted our ability to run all events at Homebush. However we have now completed the Long Jump and High Jump components. Congratulations to the all-rounders below who excelled in their respective age groups. They will be joined by others in the soon to be announced Athletics Squad to compete in Term 3. In the overall standings it was the boys from Rice who rose as clear winners in the House Championship. Barron fought valiantly for 2nd place with Treacy shading Purton for 3rd.
