Prayer

The reflection I share with you today is a Reading from the Junior School Bible Presentation held on Tuesday morning at Our Lady of Dolours Parish Church:

A Reading from the Gospel According to Luke:

He went on to open their understanding of the Word of God.  He said 'You can see now how it is written that the Messiah suffers, rises from the dead on the third day, and then a total-life-change through the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in his name to all nations - starting from here, from Jerusalem!  You're the first to hear and see it.  You're the witnesses.  What comes next is very important:  I am sending what my Father promised to you.'

Luke 24: 44-49

Open Day

All parents, students and friends are most welcome to assist at our Open Day this Saturday.

Please let the community know that everyone is welcome.

COVID-19 - NSW Health Advice to Schools

There is significant detail and advice to schools regarding COVID-19 for authorities and this morning I joined a Webinar conducted by CSNSW and led by Dr Kerry Chant, NSW Chief Health Officer.

In summary, I pass onto you the following advice for schools:

The College is following all this advice.  All St Pius X College International travel has been suspended and the U/15 Rugby Tour has been cancelled.

There is a meeting of the Kokoda Expedition travel group next Monday evening 16 March at 6.00 pm in the Sarto Centre.  This Expedition is currently suspended.

NSW Health have advised the community that there is significant misinformation available on Social Media and instead to follow the advice from NSW Department of Health Website.

The College has a standing committee including the Leadership Team who are continually monitoring any developments and receiving information updates from NSW Department of Health, NSW Department of Education, CSNSW and EREA.

Attached is the full PowerPoint Presentation from today’s Webinar for your information.  More detailed information is available on the Department of Health website:

https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, the College contact person is Mr Mark Casey (mcasey@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au) or through the College on 9411 4733.

ISA Summer Sports

Last Saturday was a great Finals day with all our Finals teams to be congratulated. We won 6 of the 7 Basketball Finals and unfortunately we lost in the First XI Cricket to Oakhill College. Next Saturday the Second XI Cricket play their Final against Central Coast Grammar at Oxford Falls. The ISA Swimming Carnival is being held today (Wednesday, 11 March). Best wishes to all.

For further details see the Sports Section.
