Mission & Identity

Celebration is such a crucial element of any community. The opportunity to come together to socialise and identify what binds us together are very valuable experiences. Our Lady of Dolours Parish has invited the St Pius X community to the celebration of their Feast Day on Sunday the 16th September. After 10.30 Mass, we will gather in the College Gym at 12 midday for a delicious lunch and entertainment from parishioners and students from St Pius College, Our Ladies of Dolours Primary School and Mercy College. There will be a Jumping Castle and activities for the children. There is no cost for the event however, please email me giving numbers of those attending for catering purposes:  ddempsey@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au

Last Friday Year 10 attended a successful Reflection Day at Oxford Falls. Thank you to Mr Adrian Brannan and Mr Pawlak for coordinating the day.

The College foyer is beginning to fill up with the many donations for our ‘Treat the Land’ Hampers. The hampers will also include vouchers for Coonabarabran's local businesses such as butchers, hairdressers and supermarkets, so that we can support the community. Thank you also for your support of our College Raffle, which will allow our College to give such significant support.

The next College Mass will be on Tuesday the 18 September at 8am. It will be dedicated to Year 12.

Treat the Land – SPX Drought Gift Basket Collection

Treat the Land gift baskets being collected in homerooms has had a tremendous start. The picture of the collection baskets gathering below the timber crucifix in the foyer truly represents the St Pius values and spirit. Year 9 students continue to visit homerooms each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and any donations can also be put in the foyer collection point.

The Drought Relief Bowerhaus Jewellery raffle tickets have been delivered home by all students, so if your son hasn’t given you his raffle book please check his bag. All sold tickets with either cash or credit card slip are to be returned to the silver box on the verandah.
