The Power of Prayer

During this time of isolation and our inability to attend Mass in person, we are encouraged to view Mass on television and on our digital devices. I also encourage families to pray together during these challenging times. Whilst growing up as a child, and now as a mother to twin boys, I always remember and promote: ‘A family who prays together, stays together’. Although my sons have reached adulthood, I still emphasize the importance of prayer and encourage them to have this as an important part of their day.

Prayer takes many forms, a few of which we teach our students as part of our RE Curriculum: To Live in Christ Jesus. These prayer forms are: Thanksgiving, Petition, Praise and Intercession.

I strongly encourage you to pray with your children, not only during these challenging times, but always. Our God works in mysterious ways. Ways that we don’t fully understand. Prayer is a means of intimate connection with our God and the Saints in heaven.

I invite you to read our Parish Bulletin, as it contains many ways that we can encounter prayer. The following are a few links that you can also access to enrich your prayer time.

God bless and stay courageous.
