Child Safety during Remote Learning

Our current global climate and the contemporary digital world have provided the deliverance of education to our children in a very different context. This is new to the education profession as well as for students and their families.  We are all working hard to ensure accessibility to the curriculum for ALL our students using this remote learning platform.

Teachers continue to liaise with parents via phone or email and our students are encouraged to do similarly via email or by the student portals. Consequently, it is all our responsibility to ensure whatever the digital tool or platform, our students are kept safe online. We encourage the use of the digital device in a common area at home and for supervision to be maintained by the adults assisting the students at home, as is the case for those students onsite. To do this effectively we need to work together and ensure our students are aware of and are abiding by our school’s Child Safety Code of Conduct - Child Friendly Version. The document is included via this link allowing students and their families to revisit and review.

Student Wellbeing Remote Learning Form

It is also an opportunity to emphasize the importance of our roles as digital citizens, ensuring we are all remaining safe online. Nevertheless, if any issues arise surrounding student safety or uncertainty online, we emphasize the importance of alerting the school via a number of means. Students and parents are encouraged to email their teachers or a member of the Leadership Team regarding any concerns as well as completing the following form:

Our school website also includes several pertinent policies that you can access.

Once we resume school, we will be launching Feedback Boxes allowing students and their families to share (anonymously if they wish) any ideas or feedback surrounding any Child Safety issues or other school ideas.

Staff Video

As an opportunity to experience some staff fun during this time of isolation, we have put together a Staff Video for the school community to enjoy.

We hope to share the video fortnightly on a Wednesday, hence the name 'Wacky Wednesday'. A video link will be sent to families via the CareMonkey platform soon. Please enjoy this light hearted merriment.

We look forward to continue to work with you in partnership.
