From the Principal...

Dear Parents and Friends,

I hope you all enjoyed the ANZAC Day weekend at home in isolation. It was certainly strange not to be able to attend the memorial services that we normally do. While we were unable to mark the occasion at cenotaphs, there was still a sense of solidarity as many Australians took to their driveways at dawn.

I hope that you enjoyed the video that was put together to mark the occasion in place of the service that we would normally hold at St Therese's. If you did miss the email that was sent out on Caremonkey on Friday. You may wish to grab an ANZAC cookie and a cuppa as the video goes for approximately 13 minutes. Thanks to the students and staff who helped to put this together.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them." Laurence Binyon

Remote Learning Update

At this stage, nobody knows exactly when school will resume in its normal format, however Victoria's Chief Health Officer, Dr Brett Sutton, continues to reinforce the reasoning behind this current model of school:

‘My advice to the Victorian Government was and continues to be that to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), schools should undertake remote learning for term two.’

‘This is because having around a million children and their parents in closer contact with teachers and other support staff has the potential to increase cases of coronavirus not just in schools but across the community.’

‘By having remote learning, it can contribute to physical distancing and therefore supports efforts to drive transmission down.’

So, until further notice students who can learn from home must continue to learn from home.

In this week's newsletter, we see Lynda and her sister Diana working hard with their cute little puppy!

If you would like to share your own remote learning photos, we would be happy to showcase them in future newsletters!

Enjoy this afternoon's glorious Autumn day because I have a feeling the rest of the week will see us shiver with an early Wintery blast!

God Bless,
