Middle Unit

Years 1 and 2

What a fabulous term the Middle Years Unit has had!

We have enjoyed dressing up on Pirate Day, made playdough for Science and Literacy, set learning goals and smiled in school photos. We have designed and created shopping bags, stretched lolly snakes and run around in PE. We have read countless books, counted many numbers and cleaned up the school yard in house teams. We have practised our spelling, written stories, listened at assembly and shared during Show and Tell. We have made art, created music and spoken in French. We have been ‘Student of the Week’ and looked after our classrooms. We have measured and weighed in Maths and completed newsletter challenges. We have expanded our thinking, gained knowledge and we have grown.

As the term comes to an end, Reports will go out, families and teachers will meet, we will dress up as our favourite movie characters and the break will be here before we know it. What a fabulous term two!

Year 3

A few quick reminders for our excursion to the Melbourne Aquarium this Friday 21st of June. Students will need to arrive at school by 9am in full school uniform. We will not be taking school bags with us so students' lunches and snacks need to be packed into a clearly named plastic or paper bag ready for us to collect. Students will also need to bring a full water bottle. Please see our Compass alert for more details

Next Week:

Come visit us on Tuesday 25th of June for our parent morning! We will be showing off our animal projects from 9 until 9.30 am. We hope to see you then!

Don’t forget Wednesday is Sushi Day and Dress Up Day (Favourite Movie Character) with a gold coin donation.

We have been working on mass in Maths this past week. Students have investigated heavier and lighter and measured classroom objects using balance and kitchen scales. We have been measuring objects in grams. Next time you are cooking at home, ask your child to help you measure out ingredients, we love using scales!
