Clontarf Update...

A couple of camps and a Rotary presentation have highlighted the beginning of 2019 for the Clontarf Academy.

The Year 12 Warrnambool Clontarf boys attended their Leadership Camp in Melbourne earlier last month. They joined Clontarf boys from across the state to reinforce the importance of completing Year 12. They participated in a number of challenging activities, joined the The Big Umbrella Foundation in feeding the homeless and signed off on a ‘pledge’ to follow a list of behaviours to guide them through Year 12. To cap off the trip the boys attended the NRL All Star game between the Indigenous All Stars and the NZ Maoris.

The Year 7 Warrnambool Clontarf boys enjoyed their Induction Camp to Torquay. The boys spent time getting to know each other as well as gaining further information on how the program can support them individually. They also spent time catching a wave at the Breamlea Beach in Bacoora and spent a few hours having a blast at the Adventure Park near Geelong.

At the beginning of this Term, we were invited along to present at Daybreak Rotary, a great supporter of our program. Two of our senior boys gave the Rotarians an update and shared some of the recent successes of our program. Not only did they receive more insight into some of the activities our boys have been involved in thus far, it also gave them another public speaking opportunity to present to a large group of people.
