Cat on a Hot Tin Roof Performance

This week our Year 12 Literature students were treated to an amazing workshop in preparation for their first SAC for Unit 3 to deepen their understanding of Tennessee William’s famous play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1955) and how it was transformed by Richard Brook’s film adaptation in 1958.

Students from Emmanuel and Terang College joined us to be exposed to the performance of key scenes being acted out by the Complete Works Theatre Company and then compared with the film, with discussion and analysis an inclusive part of the incursion.

“I thought the workshop was really valuable and presented really well. To be able to see the different interpretation of both text and film from another, professional perspective was really helpful and interesting.” – Bella Rantall

War on Waste

The waste audit was a huge success on Monday. The kids were highly motivated and extremely helpful. The facts that we discovered about the College were astounding. We now just need to find ways of changing our habits and streaming of our waste – particularly the 144 kg of paper we produce each week that is going into landfill. The sustainability team is now busy making new plans as we think about ways of moving forward. If you missed the great video the ABC put together – check it out via the link below.
