An Ode to Remote Teaching

The bell did not ring

The kids were not there

So I sat in my house

And taught school from my chair

I sat there with Reyna

My puppy dog friend

And that’s when I said

“Oh when will this end?”

I cannot go out

No classroom for me

I miss my kid’s faces

I miss morning tea

I miss all my colleagues

I miss all the noise

I miss all the chatter

from girls and from boys

but out of adversity

a new world appears

I’ve learnt many new skills

I’ve conquered some fears

I’m teaching remotely

It’s actually quite cool

These kids are resilient

Engaging with school

We WebEx and Email

And chat everyday

And work is uploaded

YOU ALL GET AN A!

So maybe it’s different

Learning now as a teen

But Healesville, we’ve got this
