Principal's Report

Community

It was exciting for us to have our Year 11 and 12 students return last week. We have had strong attendance. There has been a great feeling of connection and relief for teachers and students alike. I would like to pay tribute to the way our students have shown they care by following the procedures that we have put in place to maintain everyone’s health and wellbeing. I would like to reinforce some of these procedures:

  • DET has advised us not to distance with students. We have decided to be extra careful and put distancing measures for students in place wherever possible anyway.
  • If you child is ill or is feeling unwell, they must not attend school. If they become unwell whilst at school they will be sent home to seek medical advice.
  • Students should enter and exit via the closest gate to minimise movement through the school.
  • All students must bring their device to school.
  • All students should bring their own drink bottle already filled up.
  • Hand sanitiser and hospital grade disinfectant is available in every room, however we also encourage students to bring their own hand sanitiser.
  • We encourage students to bring their own sports equipment for use at lunchtime as we will not be able to loan sport equipment to students.
  • Parents are required to stay in cars while dropping off and picking up their children
  • Adults who are not staff members will not be able to come on site. Our General Office will be physically closed. Please contact the school on 97434622 or via the school email staughton.co@edumail.vic.gov.au.

Monday 8th June is a public holiday. On Tuesday 9th June all other year levels return. There will be more specific advice given this week for year 7-10 students including our existing procedures above.

Once a year level has returned, all students will be expected to attend school as normal. This means if you choose to keep your child/children home after their year level has returned to on-site schooling, we can no longer support their learning from home. This does not apply to children who need to be absent health or medical reasons. For families with children in this category, please contact us by Monday 1st June on the Staughton College email staughton.co@edumail.vic.gov.au  so that we can work with you. This same approach is being taken by all government schools in Victoria.

The onsite Uniform Shop will remain closed for the rest of Term 2. The following options are available to families:

  1. Go to the Werribee Store
  2. Online – www.noone.com.au
  3. Phone Head Office on 9379 5037
