Catholic Identity

                                     Mercy Prayer

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at St. Mary’s.

It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

VINNIES  WINTER APPEAL -

Thank you to everyone who gave so generously to our annual Winter Appeal for St Vincent De Paul.  We had so many baskets of groceries and bags of winter clothes, jackets and blankets to donate to Vinnies.  On Friday 19th June the Social Justice Team made a presentation to representatives of Vinnies and also hosted a morning tea in the staffroom to thank them for the great work they do in our community.  We are also grateful to the Mooroopna Woolworths store, who always give generously to our appeals, and who donated a $50 gift voucher for our appeal.

Sacraments update -

Baptism - The parent information meeting for the Sacrament of Baptism at St. Mary’s has been scheduled for Tuesday July 21st at 7pm in the Church.   Further information and dates for  baptism ceremonies will be discussed at this meeting.  Any parents wishing to have their child(ren) baptised in the coming few months are urged to attend this meeting and to also notify the Parish House of their intention.

Eucharist -  Children who are planning to make their first Eucharist this year should be able to start the home program towards the middle of Term Three, as it does not involve any group meetings other than work in  your own home. We would be planning for the ceremony to take place in term Four over a couple of masses.   Further updates to come.

Confirmation – This Sacrament is still planned for Grade Six in Term Four.  This will be celebrated by Monsignor Peter as the Bishop is not doing any of these visits this year.

Online Mass and prayer sites

Sunday Mass from St Mary's with Monsignor Peter has now been uploaded to Youtube each week. (The link for mass is  emailed to school families each week.  Contact Mr Butts or the Parish House if you know of anyone else that would like the link sent to them.)
