What is the AMC?
The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is the leading mathematics competition in the country. Over the last four decades, more than 15 million students in years 3–12 have taken part in this 30-question competition.
The AMC fosters mathematical problem solving and demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives.
If your child has a real passion for problem solving and you are interested in participating in this competition, please email myself so I can register them.
Entry per child is $6.50 and is payable in cash to the office.
Money and expression of interest need to be finalised no later than 24th June 2020.
This year's theme for Book Week is 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds'.The official Book Week dates have now changed from August to October 17-23. At this stage we have not set a date for our school parade but will do so next term so all our avid students (and teachers/parents) who love dressing up can get organised.
Last Friday in the 3/4 learning community students enjoyed a magical day of fun and learning with a Harry Potter themed day. Students could dress up in costumes and the teachers surprised everyone with their awesome costumes and fun activities. The classes rotated around each activity. Our first activity was called Owl Post. We got to write letters and send them with balloon owls. The next activity was Potions Class. We worked in pairs to create potions using different ingredients. Next we had wand making. We created a wand with different patterns on them. Lastly we played a modified version of Quidditch. There were Chasers, Seekers and Beaters. We had so much fun being at Hogwarts for the day.

A great initiative from the Middle Learning team and Foundation students was the writing of letters and beautiful art work to the elderly as they were (and still are) confined to their aged care facilities. These were greatly received and brought much joy and happiness to residents. Below are a few photos sent to the school from the residents with their letters and art work.

At the onset of remote learning many students borrowed extra books from the library to have during the remote learning period. Over the next week and holidays could all families check to see these books are returned so others may use them next term.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Stay safe.
