This week, Primary students will reflect on Creativity and how this contributes to our life and learning. When we’re creative we come up with new ideas and use our imagination to explore new possibilities. We wonder ‘What If…’ as we search and discover. Creativity and our imagination helps us to grow.
Each family has creativity adapted to life over the last few months and I am immensely thankful for the ways you have ensured your children have continued their learning. I am thankful for our teachers who instantly changed their approach to teaching and dialled up their own creativity to present lessons for our students to participate in and enjoy.
As a family, I want you to continue to be creative. Be creative in the ways that you do things.
Now that we have returned to school, take time to gather your thoughts and reflect on the time that has been. Some of you may have cleared your kitchen tables with mixed emotions of joy and sadness. Others are marvelling at the fact that you survived this period of your life and still others are pondering how you can savour the lazy afternoons as a family. Be creative and ponder, ‘What if….’. What was it that you really loved from the last two months and how can you ensure you can still capture some part of that in the everyday? Ask your children what they enjoyed and to imagine what they would do differently, if this happened again. Think creatively to grow your family and respond to what has been a tough period of our lives, with positivity and hope.
When God set out and created the heavens and the earth, He did an impressive job. We too, can be ambitious with our creativity. We won’t create the world, but we can certainly make a difference within it, even if it is just within our family.
It was pure joy to see our whole Primary School in class today. I think we can all agree, that school exists for a reason. Both the teaching and learning and the social connections. School is a wonderful place to be.
Have a great week.
