P&F News

Hi everyone,

We might be in lockdown, but the P&F team have been working to bring some joy and support a positive school community. Thank you so much to all the lovely people who have reached out to say how much they appreciated the Father's Day resource packs and the games nights.  It's so lovely to hear.  RHPS really is such an amazing community to be part of!

You can read all about what we have going on below.

Games Nights

The  Games Nights that we held were a huge success. A highlight for me was seeing Mr. Bradley and Ms. Moore joining in the fun and dressing up with the kids.  What fun! We have been overwhelmed with lovely messages and appreciation.  Due to popular demand, we will be holding them again early in term 4! Keep your eyes out for the dates.

Spoonville has arrived at RHPS!

In the same style that the Rainbow Trail became popular during the first lockdown, Spoonville is a fun new craze that is supporting connection and keeping people entertained during this Pandemic.  You might see these handmade villages sprouting all over Victoria at the moment!

The RHPS Spoony village has sprouted in the garden area, just inside the front gate. If you would like to decorate a spoon and join the RHPS Spoony village please do so! Be creative, perhaps you make a funny character or even a teacher!  Wooden spoons are generally used, but you could also use a plastic spoon too.  Don’t forget to make your spoon sturdy and waterproof.   On your daily exercise (within 5km of course) simply pop your Spoony person in the ground and join the RHPS population!  Remember to spread the Spoon people out slightly and be respectful of other spoons while you are there.  Enjoy the moment, take a few pics, and then move on as to adhere to social distancing 🙂

Let's see if we can help our Spoonville expand and become a thriving Spoon city! The two founding spoons are looking a little lonely at the moment!

Before checking it out, please ensure you have read the Spoonville Rules.

Bread Tags

Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs is an organisation who collect bread tags in Australia. The tags are recycled locally, raising funds to buy wheelchairs for disadvantaged people in South Africa.

We’re asking that RHPS families to continue collecting their bread tags at home during isolation.  In term 4, we will have a drop off tub for you to safely deposit all the bread tags you’ve collected.

Some ideas might be a collection jar on the kitchen windowsill, a small labelled bag or even just a cup!

P&F Committee AGM

The P&F committee will be holding their AGM on Tuesday 10th November this year. The meeting time and location will be advised early in Term 4. We would love to see some new faces join our committee next year as we have some wonderful things planned! There is a Trivia night and a Summer Fair on the cards. If you’d like to join our positive, dynamic and fun team please consider coming along – we are super friendly and welcoming! You don’t need to commit to a huge amount of responsibilities, you might like to just come and along and help with a few smaller things here and there.

Coming Soon….

Due to not being able to run the Father’s Day Stall this year, and the uncertainty of the future, we will be hosting a Pop Up Christmas Stall in Term 4.  There will be a variety of lovely Christmas items available to purchase.

There are some other plans on the cards to help spark joy and support the school community.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to say a heart felt thank you to our amazing RHPS staff.  They have all put in an incredible amount of time and effort to ensure our children have continued their education throughout remote learning.  We are a truely thankful to have such amazing leaders and teachers at RHPS.

How to contact the P&F committee?

You can contact Melissa in the office who will put in contact with Jacinta.

Or, you can email the P&F directly at: rhps.pf.3138@gmail.com
