From the Head of Junior School

Last Friday, the Junior School held their annual ‘Public Speaking Showcase’. All students in Stage 2 and Stage 3 have participated in speech writing and have learned a great deal about this. We know that this is challenging for children, and indeed for many adults too.

Our students picked topics that they were interested in. Our listeners were challenged by their curiosity, their knowledge and their passion. Listeners were asked to be open-minded and consider what the speakers had to say. It was impressive to watch our students speak so confidently to our audience. We are proud of them all.

On Thursday 27 July, Dr Drew took a wonderful group of Stage 3 students to Knox Grammar School to participate in the DaVinci Decathlon. The competition was fierce! Dr Drew was blown away by the effort and improvement our students made as they trained hard for this event. Importantly, these students showed grit and determination, and took on all of her expert feedback. Thank you so much to Dr Drew who does so much for our students in the area of Enrichment.

Both campuses have enjoyed visits with the Nagoya Japanese exchange students this week. Our students are keen to learn about different places and the Japanese students were very kind and friendly. Thank you for including the Junior School in your visit.

We will be showcasing some of the writing our students are creating with the broader school community and hope you enjoy this too.
