Principal's Report

Congratulations to all students on their participation at last week's Year 4-6 Winter Sports.  By all accounts, it was a great day of competion and everyone enjoyed the day out, despite pulling up tired and sore!  Most noteable,  were the recounts of the sportsmanship that was demonstrated on the day.  It was so great to hear the stories of how well our students had supported each other and this is a real credit to them.  Few of us will remember all the games we won or lost, but the memory of belonging and being part of a team, can last a lifetime.

Thanks to Sheepy and the team from Howmans Gap, this year our students in Years 3 & 4 will have the opportunity to participate in a four day Cross Country Skiing program.  The program will start next Thursday, with students departing school at 9am and returning to school by 2pm.  Families are reminded to please complete the consent and payment process via Compass by the end of this week. 

A special music performance from students in Prep - 3 will be presented on Wednesday 2nd August at 2.30pm.  The choir will also be performing and families are invited to join us, in the BER building, for this celebration of student achievement. 

For students who have registered to participate, the Australian Maths Competition will also be held on Wednesday, 2nd August.

On the 9th of August, we will be celebrating Book Week.  This annual event is always associated with lots of excitement, and students are encouraged to start planning their costumes for the big parade!  As in previous years, we will be hosting a Book Fair, to raise funds for our library.  More information regarding Book Fair opening times, etc, will be provided shortly.

The Dental Van will be visiting again, later this year.  Consent forms have been sent home this week.  If you haven't already done so, please return these forms tomorrow.  Additional forms can be collected from classroom teachers or the office.
