Canteen Ordering

St Augustine's has welcomed Robyn Backway during 2023 to run our College Canteen. Rob is enjoying her time with us and has passed on some lovely feedback about our students' polite manners and smiley faces. We are thrilled to hear this!

Next Monday, 7th August, the canteen will transition to online only lunch orders via Flexischools App. Please note - there will be no paper-bag style lunch orders as of 7th August.

Details on how to download the app, register and order can be found in the graphics below.

Rob would like everyone to know there is a variety of hot and cold meals available for purchase from the bain marie if an online lunch order is not submitted by the 9.30am cutoff, however it is best to order through the app to ensure your child does not miss out.

Cash or eftpos facilities are available for purchases from the bain marie.

As per the existing canteen procedures, students from F-4 are not able to purchase directly from the canteen.  All items for these students must be ordered via the Flexischools app.

Rob strives to serve fresh and healthy food options, there are some treats available too! Sushi is on the menu daily and has been a popular choice among the students and staff. One of the teachers orders a salad roll every day and claims that they are 'elite.' We are delighted with this kind of feedback!

Rob is able to cater for special dietary requirements when required and would like to say 'thank-you' for the warm welcome and positive support the Canteen is receiving.

On a busy day, 80 lunch orders keep Rob and the team very busy!

Attendance matters

Every minute of school counts!  The following visual gives you an idea of the time missed when students don't attend.

At St Augustine's we want to see your child 100% of the time!

If you are concerned about attendance, please discuss  with your child's TA so we can work with you regarding improving their attendance.

Applications Open for 2024 Student Leaders

Your child's TA is available to help them with their application, as are Mrs Downie, Mr Poppa and Ms Jenner.  Please encourage your child to consider applying for a leadership position.

St Augustine's Years 7-12 Writing Competition 2023

We are excited to announce the theme for our 2023 Writing Competition.....

IGNITE YOUR INNER FLAME!

This theme calls you to write about something you're passionate about! Topics and issues you want to spark thought in people and ignite curiosity.

You can write either a fiction or nonfiction piece, and they can be in any format (think poem, essay, creative, song etc).

This year, we have decided NOT to put a word count on the competition! After all there is no limit on representing issues important to you!

The competition closes on Friday 1st September. And winners will be announced at the End of Term Assembly!

Please be aware of the following changes to enhance safety in the College driveway

We have been working on strategies to enhance safety at drop off and pick up times in the College Driveway area. You might have noticed the orange cones, highlighting the designated footpath for students.

In order to help students into vehicles efficiently and safely, all students who will be getting into a vehicle in the College Driveway are asked to wait with the yard duty teacher in front of the Parish House with their school bag. To reduce the amount of time parents spend waiting, siblings are encouraged to wait patiently together and keep an eye out for their car.

A reminder that students should get in and out of passenger side doors (where possible) and use the designated footpaths.

No vehicle should be left unattended in the driveway at any time and please remember the speed limit is 5km/h.

Staff on driveway duty will remind drivers to move toward the Brigidine Centre before stopping to let children in or out, especially in the afternoon, to try and minimise the congestion on Church Street.

We thank you for your help to keep our students safe and reduce congestion at drop off and pick up times. Please share these safety reminders with grandparents/relatives/friends who use the driveway to collect students from school.
