Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Communication

We love to hear from from our families and pride ourselves on responsive and informative communication practices at our school. In order for our school to ensure appropriate avenues for conversations with families, we have a variety of platforms for different uses.

  1. Sentral app, telephone and/or email - to request a meeting with your child's classroom teacher, seek information and report an absence.
  2. SeeSaw/Showbie - to share learning celebrations, comment on your child's successes, reminders form classroom teachers.
  3. Newsletter - information for families, announcements of upcoming events, learning celebrations and happenings around the school.
  4. Miners Rest Primary School & Kindergarten Facebook Page - reminders to families, announcement of upcoming events, celebrations etc.

To ensure that your communication is addressed efficiently and appropriately, please choose the right platform for communication. If in doubt, seek clarification from your child's classroom teacher or our friendly administration team.

Congratulations!

Our Foundation children celebrated 100 days of learning on Tuesday - yay! We were delighted to have all of our students and staff, and lots of our families, join us to acknowledge this significant milestone in their education. The Foundation children will be singing their special 100 day song at assembly this Friday. So, if you missed this very cute performance, come along and enjoy watching and hearing them sing on Friday. A big congratulations and thank you to our Foundation teachers for making this occasion such an enjoyable and memorable time for all involved.

Welcome

As we farewell Emily Pellegrino and wish her the very best for family leave, we welcome Mr Samuel Hill to S1. Mr Hill has been a part of our school for quite a while now, teaching across all year levels and has positive relationships with students and staff alike. We look forward to Mr Hill being with us for the remainder of the year.

Tree Planting

We have our fingers crossed for sunny weather this Friday, as we commence our tree planting venture. Students and staff across our school, from Kindergarten to Year 6, will be engaged in beautifying our school and demonstrating a commitment to caring for the environment by planting hundreds of trees across our school. A big thank you to Mrs Riddoch for being the champion of this event!

Assembly

See you at assembly this Friday at 2:45 pm.
