Year 8

Smashed Performance

Year 8 students watched the Smashed performance on August 9th in the Epping Secondary College library.

Smashed is an interactive performance and it educates students about risk taking behaviour, underage drinking, decision making and consequences of poor choices.

The actors, Chantelle, Bryce and Kane brought energy into the room and totally captivated the Year 8 students.

I enjoyed watching students’ reactions and how much they connected with the characters – Bronte, Jack and TJ. After the first performance some students requested to

meet with the actors and they willingly engaged with them.

The students were so excited and appreciative that Chantelle, Bryce and Kane had given their time so freely.

I have seen this performance so many times and I still love watching it! The actors commented on how well-behaved students were and how much they enjoyed performing for them.

I am so proud of the Year 8 students as they demonstrated the Epping Secondary College values of respect, care, and resilience throughout the performance.

Many students from our school benefited from their connections with the Youth workers who volunteered their time every Monday for 8 weeks.

Please find links below for information for programs, Paul, Michael and the crew organise at the Innovative Youth Centre in Bundoora (near Uni Hill shopping complex)

If you are at Uni Hill, please feel free to visit and see what happening at the centre.
