📚 Welcome Miss Cowan 📚

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to Miss Cowan, the newest member of our English faculty team. Miss Cowan brings with her a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching, and we are thrilled to have her on board. We are looking forward to collaborating with her and witnessing the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our students' learning journeys.

🦸 Comic Con 🦹

In Week 8 of Term 2, our imaginative Year 7 students put their creative skills to the test by participating in Comic-Con displays. They were tasked with crafting persuasive speeches on why their chosen hero or villain is the ultimate champion of their universe.

But the creativity didn't stop there! The students also designed eye-catching displays that attracted numerous visitors to witness their creative prowess. We are proud of all the participants and would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winners who took home well-deserved prizes on the day.

📚 AATE Conference 2023 📚

During the recent July holidays, our dedicated English staff embarked on a journey to the Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE) Conference in Canberra. The conference provided an invaluable opportunity for our teachers to connect with educators from all across the country and gain insights into the latest teaching and learning strategies. Mrs Danielle De Redder and Mrs Cindy Moor were instrumental in representing our school, as they conducted an engaging workshop on the English Textual Concept of Characterisation. The workshop was skillfully linked to our Year 7 unit - "Living on the Edge," and it left the audience inspired and enriched.

📖 English Network Meeting 📖

On the first day of Term 3, our dedicated English staff attended an English regional network meeting in Tamworth during the Staff Development Day. The meeting focused on crucial aspects of the 2024 English curriculum implementation and facilitated regional networking among educators. Our school's English team used this opportunity to brainstorm and collaborate on exciting ideas for our 2024 Term 1 units. This collaborative effort will undoubtedly result in innovative and engaging learning experiences for our students in the upcoming year.

We thank all our staff and students for their active participation and continued dedication to enhancing the learning experience in our school.

Happy reading and writing!
