Message from the Principal
St Peter’s School- an empowered faith community to enrich the world
To provide a vibrant learning culture for our community of learners to thrive, guided by faith and compassion.
Dear Parents,
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather at the moment! Crisp, cold mornings with clear blue sky- we have much to be grateful for in Melbourne!
I was privileged this week to go on an excursion with the 5 /6 students to the Immigration Museum. This enhanced the learning the students are undertaking in class around stories and the history of our country.
I was proud to be part of this group as we walked around the city: the behaviour of the students was exemplary!
Thank you to all those families who attended our student led celebration of learning. The school was abuzz with chatter as students confidently spoke about their learning. We thank everyone for their support of this approach to encourage student voice in an inclusive learning environment.
We encourage our students to take charge of their learning, develop important life skills, and build a strong sense of accomplishment and pride in their educational journey.
We have held two meetings this term as we begin to create an active P&F and are proud to announce the first event.
We have a date for our Special Person's breakfast! Friday 6 October 7:30-8:30am. Please save the date. We will need many hands to help organise the event. Please email office@spclayton.catholic.edu.au if you are able to help in any way.
I am still looking for parents interested in forming the executive committee for the P&F. Please let me know if this is the role for you or if want more information about this.
It's that time of year where the school needs to start planning for next year. If you already know that your plans for 2024 mean your family will not be at St Peter's, or even if you are thinking about moving, please email office@spclayton.catholic.edu.au by Friday 11 August.
The safety of the community is important to all of us. We ask you to follow the road rules that are in place around the school.
You are the role models for your children and they need to see you follow instructions for the safety of everyone.
The council also do spot checks to ensure there are no traffic violations. Whatever your motivation (good example/don't want to be fined) please help to keep us all safe.
Blessings for a safe week.
