Visual Art Update

This week in Visual Art grades five and six students finished off their Julian Opie inspired self-portraits. When I shared some of the student’s portraits with another class, they easily identified the young artists from their simplified features. Every single week your amazing children raise the bar of what they are willing to have a go at in Art. The “growth mindset” they possess is a huge privilege to witness.

Our amazing little pocket rocket Foundation students took to the playground to sketch in nature, with amazing results. Some very interesting perspective drawings were done from up high on the play equipment. One of our budding Picassos explained that they were drawing nature but with all different colours. How amazing to see elements of our study of Picasso this term, flowing through to their own works.
