Design Teachers Masterclass

Last Monday 31 August, our lead Design Teachers were treated to a three-hour Masterclass with the legendary QUT University Lecturer; Andrew Scott from the QUT School of Design. Colleagues from Brisbane Girls Grammar and Padua College were also invited to partake in this unique opportunity to identify strengths and weaknesses between the Senior Design Curriculum and the Creative Industries University Degrees. Mr Andrew Scott was on the writing team for the Design Syllabus when it commenced in 2019 and has spent his years teaching and promoting Design Thinking in order to promote and produce students to consider more sustainable solutions to the problems of our future. Our Year12 Design students also joined the presentation and discussion for their lesson and found it to be extremely valuable as well. Mr Andrew Scott was very impressed with the standard of work and interactions with the students. Marist College Ashgrove sincerely thanks Andrew for generously giving up his valuable time to spend with our staff and students.
