Congratulations to the cast and crew for this highly entertaining dramatic production. Theatre Ash proudly presented Bill Hand’s satirical comedy, Murder on the Menu in the Draney Theatre on 26th July. A small cast of boys spent six months of hard work rehearsing to create a story about a wealthy book publisher who has many people around him with a motive to ‘bump him off’. Who was it? His scheming, power-hungry son? His slightly-insane Emily Dickinson-quoting daughter, or his disgruntled nephew? Perhaps it was his shady lawyer. One lucky viewer even guessed the murderer through our competition to win a chocolatey prize! Join Theatre Ash for our next production in Term 4!
On Sunday July 30, Big Bands 1 and 2 travelled to Warwick for the 2023 Jumpers and Jazz in July Festival. This is the third time our jazz program has presented at this prestigious festival and once again the boys did the College proud. Both bands performed to an appreciative audience on what turned out to be a spectacular Warwick winter's day.
Best of luck to Year 12 band “Miss Mardy” who will be representing Marist Ashgrove at the Gap High’s Battle of the Bands. This competition is held for all Secondary schools in the North West district and is held biannually with the winner receiving a perpetual trophy and gift voucher. The boys will be performing at 8:25 PM and will be defending the title won by our 2019 seniors prior to COVID.
We are pleased to confirm the College’s participation in this year’s Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival. A letter has been sent home to all performing students with the key points below:
As always, for a successful performance, it is paramount that all boys attend this event to best represent the hard work contributed throughout the year. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this event, please contact the Music Department as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support.
